A British retailer has taken steps to recall a model of children's car seat due to a potential safety risk.

Veelar Limited has recalled the Bebehut car seat model BAB001 due to a manufacturing error with the harness.

The affected car seats, designed for children weighing between nine and 18kg, were manufactured between July and December 2015, carry ECE approval number 0444596 and date reference7/15 onward.

If you are concerned that you have one of the affected products, check the rear of the seat to identify whether yours is from the affected batch.

A spokesperson for Veelar Limited said: “Although there have been no reported incidents of injuries so far, we have taken the decision to recall all of the products specified in this notice.

“If you bought any of this car seat from us, please stop using it immediately.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused but product quality and safety of our customers are paramount and maintaining this trust is important to us.”
