Residents are in shock after the body of a man was discovered in his flat on Saturday night (April 16).
Lincs Police are investigating the death of the man who is believed to be in his 20s after his body was found in Colonial Quarter in Marshalls Rise, Gainsborough at around 6.45pm.
David Fletcher who lives in Colonial Quarter, said: “I was in bed when the police knocked us up around 10.45pm.
“I was asked to give a police statement.
“My son told me it was a young man.
“I am a bit shocked.”
David did say there can be a bit of anti social beahviour in the area.
He said: “Nothing like this has ever happened before but there is sometimes a bit of anti social behaviour.
“You don’t expect anything like that to happen.”
A resident who did not want to be named, and lives in Brewsters Quarter which is next to Colonial Quarter, said: “It is very sad, he was a young lad. He seemed quite vulnerable.
“My thoughts are with his family. It’s sad to think he might have been on his own,”
And a resident from Marshalls Rise who did not want to be named said: “Someone I work with told me about it and they lived above him and knew who he was.
“I personally didn’t know the guy but it is a bit of a shock.”
His death is currently being treated as unexplained.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
