UPDATE: Parents receive text alert after incident at Worksop school

Police are investigating a 'suspicious incident' involving a pupil at a Worksop school.

The incident happened on Tuesday on Sparken Hill, although some parents were only warned today (Thursday, November 3).

Patrols have been increased in the area.

Schools including Outwood Academy Valley, Prospect Hill Junior School and Sir Edmund Hillary Primary are all believed to have sent out text messages warning parents about the incident.

A text from Outwood Academy Valley said: “There has been a school safe incident reported in the Worksop area. Police are aware. Thank you.”

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “We are investigating a suspicious incident that occurred on Sparken Hill on 1 November involving a pupil from a local school.

“The neighbourhood policing team have instigated reassurance patrols in the area, and would encourage anyone who saw anything suspicious to report it via 101 quoting incident 459 of the 2 of November.”
