Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating after a woman is confirmed to have been hit by a police car in Worksop town centre.
The Police Watchdog was referred the case by Nottinghamshire Police after the incident yesterday afternoon which left a woman 'seriously injured', and had to be rushed to hospital.
Officers said they are still waiting for an update on her condition but believe 'her injuries are not life threatening'.
The incident happened just before 4.30pm when a woman was knocked down by a police car on Memorial Way.;
All major roads towards the town centre were cordoned off and police officers were in attendance at the scene.
Details of the victim have not yet been released.
Inquiries are on-going.
