UPDATE: Assaulted man is still in hospital after being attacked with a broken bottle

A 23-year-old man who was attacked with a broken bottle on Tuesday (28th October) is still in hospital.

The assault happened around 2.40pm in Wellington Street. The victim has injuries to the neck after he was attacked with a broken bottle.

He was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where he remains and his injuries have been described as not life threatening.

A 21-year-old Retford man was arrested and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The area where the assault occurred is close to the A631/Ashcroft Road and Trinity Street and it is believed there would have been a large volume and pedestrians and motorists in the area at the time.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything to do with the assault, or anyone who thinks they have any information relevant to the enquiry.
