Two burglaries on Lea Road

TWO burglaries were reported in the early hours of Saturday 28th January - both were on Lea Road in Gainsborough.

The first was reported at 3.50am when a resident from a nearby property disturbed the suspect who had tried to force entry to the property by smashing a window.

A figure was seen to run away towards the old Drovers Call Public House before disappearing out of sight.

The second incident is believed to have happened at around the same time but in this instance a window was completely removed for a thief to enter and steal a handbag.

A Lincs police spokesman said: “Please do not leave any valuables on display and always ensure that your doors and windows are locked and secure at all times when your home is unattended or overnight in the hours of darkness.”

“Please be extra vigilant and if you notice any suspicious or unusual persons.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Lincs Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
