Turkey thief on CCTV

Hayley Owen, 24, of The Croft, Worksop, was caught on CCTV bagging the birds at Asda in Worksop on 3rd December.

Worksop magistrates heard how Owen, who has 16 similar offences on record since 2006, has been battling a drug problem.

“Taking these items was not drug related. She wanted to sell them on to pay for some food,” said David Verity, defending.

Magistrates adjourned the case for probation reports until 19th December.

Owen was bailed on the condition that she does not enter any retail premises in Worksop town centre until then.
