Trio in court over spate of armed robberies

Three men have appeared at court in connection with a series of armed raids on betting shops in places including Maltby, Kiveton, Swallownest and Thurcroft.

The trio were remanded in custody after the hearing yesterday (Thursday 25th April 2013) at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.

Brett Haslam, 24, from Wales, is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, possession with intent to supply amphetamines, possession of a firearm, production of cannabis and aggravated burglary.

David Nuttall, 25, from Kimberworth, faces charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, possession with intent to supply base amphetamine, possession of a firearm, possession with intent to supply cannabis, possession with intent to supply MCAT and aggravated burglary.

And 20-year-old Ben Porter, of Wentworth, is also accused of conspiracy to commit robbery.

A 16-year-old boy from Wales has been released on police bail.

Police arrested all four on Tuesday 23rd April in connection with armed robberies on bookmakers in Maltby, Swallownest, Thurcroft, Kiveton and Greasbrough earlier this year.

Another one was in the High Green area of Sheffield.
