Tributes paid to former chairman of the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance

The former chairman of the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance has sadly passed away.

The charity will forever be indebted to John for his vision and foresight in inaugurating the life saving Charity back in 1992. 

John passed away at 75-years-old.

John worked tirelessly in establishing the original ‘Lincolnshire Air Ambulance’ before expanding the service into Nottinghamshire

During his time with the charity, John not only recruited the first Board of Trustees, but also the Charities first ever fundraiser, John also served for six years as Chairman of the Board. 

He remained a devoted and active member of the Board of Trustees for more than 21 years and made a huge contribution to the growth and development of the Air Ambulance.

Chief Executive, Karen Jobling said “The work that John started with the Air Ambulance some 22 years ago will be a lasting legacy, and it is a testament to his determination and commitment in providing a life-saving emergency service to the people of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. 

“Over this time, over 16,500 critically ill or injured people have been air lifted by our Air Ambulance.

“John will be sadly missed by his many friends from the Air Ambulance community and our thoughts are with his wife Anne and his family at this sad time”. 

The funeral will be held on Friday, February 26, at 1pm, at Fulbeck Church.

Donations to the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance are welcomed.

The charity needs to raise £1.9 million every year.
