A water main has burst in Worksop Town Centre, disrupting traders on the market.

The water main has damaged the surface of Bridge Street, which is currently closed between Newcastle Avenue and Ryton Street.

A "small number of properties" have been left without water following the damage, Bassetlaw District Council said.

Four traders at the local market will not be able to trade and a further four have been relocated.

A Severn Trent spokesperson added: “There is a road closure in place along Bridge Street today whilst we carry out a repair on a burst water pipe in the area.

“Apologies for any disruption this may cause.

“You may find you're experiencing water discolouration whilst we carry out this repair. This is nothing to worry about.”
