Man dies after two car crash in Rotherham


Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a two-car collision in Maltby, Rotherham, on Sunday.

A silver Rover 45 and a silver Mercedes estate car were in head-on collision on the A631 Tickhill Road at Maltby at around 1.15pm.

The driver of the Rover, an 88-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is believed he may have been taken ill at the wheel.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 74-year-old man, was taken to hospital and is being treated for serious injuries. Two passengers, a 70-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl suffered slight injuries.
