Outwood Academy Valley paid homage to the Olympics by bringing together more than 1,300 students for a colourful opening before a full day of track and field events.
The Jamaican-themed event opened with a brass band, a flag procession - including flags from all 55 countries involved this summer - and staged performances from dancers and singers.
