Ofsted inspectors looked at two areas of work within the county council which are focussed on the delivery of community learning and skill-building – the Adult and Community Learning Service (ACLS) team and the Skills for Employment team.

A Notts County Council spokesman said: “Overall, the county council has been praised for its work in providing opportunities for people who have previously had poor learning opportunities or limited opportunities.”

In Worksop, young people found four groups and chose to make links with the Bassetlaw African Caribbean Association (BACA), within which is a group of elders that meet regularly and organise events in the community.
