Nathan McEvoy, 21, from Dinnington was sentenced to five months in prison at Worksop Magistrates’ Court on Monday for his role in the unprovoked two-on-one attack in December of last year.
His accomplice Michael Robinson, 23, also from Dinnington, was handed a four-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work in the community for his part in the act.
District Judge Diane Baker said: “This was an assault on a public servant in the early hours of the morning, while you were in drink.”
“It’s had a psychological effect on him and the way he does his job.”
