Three wins for the ladies

Worksop Ladies Hockey Club enjoyed three victories this weekend.

Saturday began with a 3-0 win for the thirds, as last season’s Junior Player of the Year Sophie Hughes scored a hat-trick.

Thanks to the clean sheet the thirds now sit top of table.

Worksop Ladies II beat Beeston V away 5-0.

Success for the seconds this week came from a solid team performance and a return of old faces to the back line; captain Annabelle Wilson, Sam Badger, Chris Hind and Wendy Fleet helping keeper Jane Cartwright to keep a clean sheet.

Goals came from Sian Jago, Alex Palmer and Amanda Young.

Fiona Webb was Player of the Match.

The club’s first team beat Beeston IV 5-0 in Nottingham, as keeper Sam Jarvis and her defendersdominated.

Assists from Captain Rebecca Hetherington and Ailsa Gray led to a Tracy Fuller hat-trick. Ailsa Gray and Kate Wilson scored one each.

The club run mixed juniors training sessions from 6-7pm on Wednesdays, followed by senior ladies (ladies) 7-8:30pm at Worksop College. Visit worksopladieshockey.onsport.com for more.
