Three pass karate black belt grading

On 6th November the English Shotokan Academy held a Black and Brown belt training course and grading examinations at the Oasis Academy in Grimsby.

About 40 martial artists from all around the country attended for the three hours of training including members of Tamae East Coast Shotokan Karate Club run by Sensei Roger Hooton, 5th Dan.

Three members of the club passed their Shodan (black belt) grading in front of a panel of three 5th and 6th Dan examiners.

They were Emma Faulkner (pictured left) and Adrian Joyce plus Vanessa Newbutt (not pictured).
