The 271 bus, which serves Thorpe Salvin and Harthill has an uncertain future as it is under review.

Thorpe Salvin Parish Council is urging people to ‘use it or lose it’, by encouraging villagers to use the bus as much as possible to show that it is well uses.

The latest parish council bulletin said: “It is clear that there are certainly some people who depend on this service and the Parish Council will do all it can to ensure that it continues.”

“SYPTE (South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive) have promised to consult on this (and other local public transport issues) and they will be holding a drop-in event at Harthill Village Hall in late September.”

More details will be announced when they are known.
