Thief sold phones to feed habit

A THIEF who stole more than £520 from a man with learning disabilities has been handed a 120 day suspended prison sentence.

The court heard how Rachel Northridge, 23, from Mansfield, “took advantage” of Frank Glazebrook and will have to pay the full £524.95 back.

Among the items bought were two mobile phones and clothing, which she acquired under payments on 12th and 16th August last year.

Northridge sold the phones to buy drugs and alcohol.

The case was adjourned from January for a report to be prepared.

Mr Pridham, defending, said: “She made full and frank submissions of what she had done and is in the process of turning her life around.”
