A visit to the Scotter Arts Festival may satisfy your curiosity as several people with work on display at those events are contributing.

The festival celebrates the creative talents of local people who have little chance to show their work.

An experienced quilter will be on hand to answer questions and a fused glassworker will be there to give you the chance to try your hand at creating your own unique piece. There will also be a small number of stalls.

The festival is organised by the Scotter based Art and Textile groups which meet weekly.

The art group meet on Wednesday mornings in the Eau Centre. They are mainly amateurs but were recently joined by self-taught professional artist Peter Hill. Tracey Allison Heckes is another tutor employed by the group when available.

The textile group meet on Mondays in the Methodist Chapel schoolroom and have great fun sharing and developing a range of textile skills. Specialist tutors are occasionally employed to teach new skills. Once a year they are set a challenge, the results of the latest one will be on show.

The Scotter Arts Festival is this weekend at the Scotter Methodist chapel and schoolroom from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and 1pm to 4pm on Sunday. Information about both groups will be available.
