Teens arrested after man hospitalised in Kirkby assault

A group of men and boys have been arrested after an assault involving a metal pole in Kirkby.

Police were called to reports of an assault in Spruce Grove at around 8.50pm on Wednesday, April 18.

A 26-year-old man had been attacked by a group of men and boys and chased with a metal pole. His injuries were not believed to be serious but he attended hospital as a precaution.

A 19-year-old, two people aged 14 and three aged 16 have been arrested, four have been released under investigation and one was released without charge. The 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and remains in police custody.
