Nottinghamshire Police were called to the A631 near Beckingham after a man was struck by a car which failed to stop at around 11.15am on Tuesday, April 26.
The injured man, aged 19, was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition, receiving treatment for a head injury.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who has not already come forward who saw a silver estate car driving in the village hall car park in Beckingham around 11am to 11.15am, or anyone who saw a man running in the carriageway.
Detective Inspector Mat Healey said: “We have had a number of witnesses already get in touch but we want to hear from anyone and everyone who witnessed what happened or the moments leading up to it.
“The pedestrian suffered serious injuries as a result of this collision and efforts are continuing to trace the driver of the silver estate, who did not stop at the scene after colliding with the man.
“At this stage we believe the injured man was known to the driver.”
