Teen in court on child sex charges

The 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with five counts of raping boys between the ages of five and eight-years-old and three counts of engaging in sexual activity with children under the age of 13.

The charges are alleged to have taken place between 2008 and January of this year.

The defendant did not enter a plea and no representations were made on his behalf when he appeared before magistrates at Lincoln Youth Court on Thursday 22nd September for committal.

Speaking in court, magistrate Mr Combs told the youth: “This case has been before a District Judge previously, and because they are grave crimes, we can not deal with them here.”

“It will have to go to Crown Court.”

The teen was granted conditional bail, until he must appear before Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday 20th October.
