A WHITWELL teen broke into an unoccupied flat to spend the night with his girlfriend, a court heard.
Bridget McDermid had left the Creswell flat to live with her mother.
Chesterfield magistrates were told Bryn Gillie’s girlfriend had been ‘kicked out’ of the address and the couple needed somewhere to stay.
She still had a key, which turned the lock, but the door had been bolted, and Gillie kicked it open.
Gillie, 18, of Welbeck Street, was arrested and said drinking had clouded his judgement.
He admitted damaging property between 9th and 11th November. He was given a six-months supervision and 60 hours unpaid work and was ordered to pay £400 compensation.
