‘Tapping’ in to record attempt

Over 30 dancers gathered at Misterton Primary School to take part in a nationwide ‘tap-a-thon’ to raise money for Children In Need.

Tracey Everett-Fox from the Everett-Fox School Of Dance led the session, which was enjoyed by young and old alike.

“I think we raised over £500 in the end,” said Tracey. “We really wanted to help Children In Need and I thought that this would be a great community event and an opportunity to get young and old people dancing together.”

“We were dancing for over two hours, from 12.30pm onwards we took part in a nationwide tap-a-thon as an attempt to break the world record. We did a routine that I taught everyone which lasted about 10 minutes.”

Tracey continued: “Everyone had a really good time.”

“There were people there that had never tap-danced before, and there were people who danced all the time. There was such a good variety of people and it was good to see everyone chipping in and enjoying themselves.”
