Steps 4 Success is a six-hour course which aims to build confidence and provide motivation for the unemployed.

It is being provided over two sessions at the Worksop Work Club on Thursday 13th June (9.30am-12.30pm) and Thursday 20th June (9.30am-12.30pm).

Attendees must go to both sessions, be aged 19 or over and book in advance as places are limited. To book a place, call Denise Stephenson, Work Club Co-ordinator at Notts County County Council on 07775 588 756 or email [email protected]

The course will take place at Worksop Library, Memorial Avenue, Worksop. The course is being funded by the Skills Funding Agency.

CounDiana Meale, chair of the Economic Development Committee at Notts County Council, said: “Unemployment, especially if it is for sustained period, can lead to feelings of isolation and a loss of confidence, putting people into a downward spiral and making finding a job progressively difficult.”

“The Steps for Success course aims to rebuild confidence and increase motivation by highlighting people’s strengths and reminding them what they have to offer to employers.”

Worksop Work Club is one of seven based in libraries and set-up across Notts by the County Council. Work Clubs are also held at Retford, Newark, Mansfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Hucknall and Arnold. An eighth work club is due to open in West Bridgford this summer.
