Swallownest: Life’s a beach for the day

Everyone got dressed up in sunhats and sombreros, with beach balls, buckets and spades, and spent the afternoon in the home and the garden reminiscing about their holidays and remembering the fun adventures they had when they were younger.

The residents had many stories to tell about their previous trips to the seaside with family and friends, caravanning holidays and days spent camping.

The afternoon was complete with cups of tea, biscuits and cakes.

Care home manager, Jillian Kilgallen, said: “Everyone really got involved in our beach reminiscence afternoon and it was lovely to see them reliving happy memories.”
