Survey finds happy tenants

THE caretaking team at A1 Housing are celebrating after a new survey found that tenant satisfaction has risen to 92 per cent.

The independent survey found that satisfaction was up six per cent from last year, and 11 per cent from 2007.

The Star Survey, which is carried out every two years, also shows a rise in the number of residents who think that vandalism and graffiti is not a problem. This rose from 57 per cent in 2007 to 83 per cent in 2012.

It comes after it was revealed that A1 Housing is the only social housing provider in England to have been awarded the Keep Britain Tidy Cleaner, Safer, Greener Neighbourhood Quality Mark for all its estates.

Bernard Coleman, managing director at A1 Housing said the results were great but felt improvements can still be made.

He said: “A1 Housing is proud of the neighbourhoods we manage and it’s great to see that satisfaction is rising, although we recognise there is always room for improvement.”

“Our estates caretakers, housing officers and branching out team work hard to keep our communities clean and provide a better environment for our tenants to live in.”

Councillor David Pressley, ward member for Worksop North West and portfolio holder for vommunity prosperity said: “A1 Housing quite rightly places a lot of emphasis on providing and maintaining clean and tidy neighbourhoods.”

“The Keep Britain Tidy awards and the latest Star Survey results show that these efforts are being recognised and appreciated by our tenants.”

The Keep Britain Tidy Quality Mark was awarded following a two-day inspection in February, along with other evidence provided by A1 Housing officers.
