Today looks to be the worst day for weather over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend - Saturday, Sunday and Monday mainly dry with some spells of sunshine.

Weather forecasters are predicting cloud with spells of rain throughout today.

But a spokeswoman for the MeteoGroup weather forecasters said Saturday was ‘ an improving picture’.

She said Saturday is likely to start off cloudy and damp but the cloud could break in the afternoon, allowing some sunshine to get through.

Temperatures could reach 13 degrees.

On Easter Sunday temperatures are predicted to reach 15 degrees and there should be some sunshine, but there is a warning that cloud could build up and block it out.

Easter Monday is tipped to be dry with long periods of sunshine.

Temperatures are again expected to reach 15 degrees.
