Sun shines at residents’ tea party

Residents at Linden Homes’ The Maples development at Retford have been basking not only in the sunshine, but in the success of their fundraising tea party.

Neighbours were able to get to know each other and build on the development’s community spirit at the event staged to boost coffers for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Residents Liz Moorman and Marjorie Mumby were the driving force behind the charity afternoon of cake sales, raffle and a quiz – which raised over £150.

Linden Homes sales executive Fiona Vivian, who also supported the event, said: “It was great to see so many residents getting into the community spirit and support such a wonderful afternoon.”

“We opened up our four-bed show home on the day to accommodate the many people who turned up in the sunshine.”
