Summer reading challenge
Mungler’s Trumps swap shops, workshops with children’s book illustrator Lynne Chapman and storytelling with Helen Appleton are among more than 100 events taking place in Derbyshire County Council libraries this summer.
Young readers are invited to join the challenge to read six library books in the summer holidays. The theme of this year’s reading challenge is Story Lab.

New to collect this year are top trump cards designed by author and illustrator Guy Bass who is launching this year’s challenge at Chesterfield Library on Thursday, July 12.
Munglers Trumps are a pack of 22 collectable trump cards featuring the Mungler characters.
Each card includes the character’s picture, motto and a mini adventure. Each card is scored for strength, size, speed, smell and scariness so the cards can be played as an exciting trumps game.
