A Doncaster man who died after being hit by a lorry on the A1 has been described as a ‘lovely lad’ as tributes poured in.

Farran Rawnsley, 45, died at the scene of the collision on the A1 near Blyth last Tuesday night.

Heartbroken friends have paid tribute to Mr Rawnsley, known as Faz, following the tragedy which closed the motorway for eight hours.

Jo Morris wrote: “RIP Faz you will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing you, such a lovely lad,” while Julie Ball said: “R I P Faz, sincere condolences to all the family. Absolutely heartbreaking.”

Charlotte Brown added: “I really hope you have found peace Faz, love to the family & his friends.”

Detective Constable Sarah Stables of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We'd like to pass on our condolences to Mr Rawnsley's family and friends at this difficult time.

"We are not appealing for anyone else in relation to the incident and no arrests have been made.”
