The money was mainly raised by a dinner and will be used to purchase a vehicle to enable the farm to run a gardening team which will provide employment for local people.

Jorge Stevenson commented: “Talbot House is incredibly proud to see the money raised by the boys being used for such a worthy cause, which has such a positive impact on so very many lives.

“We hope to continue raising funds and helping Rhubarb farm with their fantastic work.’

Jennie Street, managing director at the farm, added, “It’s nice to see young people so keen to help the local community.

“We are delighted with the opportunity that this gives us to move some of our volunteers into employment using the skills they have gained.”
