Storm Frank to batter East Midlands with 50mph winds
The storm - which hit the UK last night - caused the Met Office to release an amber ‘be prepared’ warning for the country,
Weather forecasters, Meteogroup, said the strongest winds are gradually going to move East across the region during daylight hours.

Hide AdA spokesman said: “The strongest wind gusts in the East Midlands are likely to be 50-55mph and will most likely be around the middle of the day.
“A band of heavy rain will also move East - but it won’t be as heavy or persistent as places further West in thr country - where there are flood warnings.”
He added that the East Midlands is only on the edge of the storm and that the worst of the weather is currently moving North through Scotland.
The winds are expected to ease in the late afternoon.
