Stolen golf buggies are recovered

EIGHT golf buggies which were stolen from Gainsborough Golf Club last week have all been recovered.

However, the buggies - worth a total of £80,000 - have been damaged and are not fit for golf club visitors to use.

Thieves entered the site off The Belt Road, Gainsborough, overnight on Wednesday 29th August, where the buggies were chained and padlocked.

Four were recovered the next day, and four more have been found since.

“It has been inconvenient more than anything,” said Kate West from the club.

“Eight out of our ten buggies were out of action, and we had 180 ladies golfing here on Thursday.”

“And there was a charity tournament over the weekend - we didn’t have enough buggies to go around.
