Spooky stories at Creswell Crags

SPook yourself silly with an eerie Gore in the Gorge night followed by scary stories told inside Robin Hood’s Cave this Halloween.

An area steeped in myths and legends, Creswell Crags will be playing host to a professional storyteller who will bring the spooky, ghostly and ghoulish alive for the atmospheric event on Saturday 29th October 2011.

Creswell Crags learning officer promised a spine-tingling night of ghoulish fun in an historic setting - perfect for the Halloween season.

“The Gorge is steeped with all sorts of stories and superstition. We are really excited to be able to deliver this event in such an exciting setting,” she said.

“We believe that the caves have had a long tradition of providing a stage for storytelling. It’s great to be using these caves as they would have been used thousands of years ago.”

Visitors are invited to add to the atmosphere by coming in costume - sensible footwear must be worn.

There will also be a prize for the best costume and opportunity for face painting.

There will be two sessions for the event, held at 6pm and 7pm. Light refreshments will be served on the evening.

Tickets for the Gore in the Gorge event are priced £12 for adults and £8 for children.
