Special farm funeral for ‘popular’ Carlton man

A POPULAR Carlton man is set to receive a special send-off as a funeral procession makes its way through Carlton today (Tuesday 24th July)

Peter Lewis Gosney died aged 61 on 11th July.

Now, in memory of his lifetime spent working on farms, he will be taken from his home on Beverley Walk to St John’s Church on a tractor, followed by a procession of tractors and trailers at 10am.

His daughter Paula Smith said: “He loved farming - it was his life.”

“He was very well-liked by everybody, so we wanted his funeral to be special.”
