The incident happened at 7.30pm last night (Friday, 15th August) when is believed the plane, a Jetstream 31 aircraft, had a problem with its undercarriage.

Two crew members and one passenger were on board the LinksAir flight from Belfast.

The passenger was taken to hospital for a check-up after incident but there have been no reports of anyone being seriously injured.

Crash investigators are on the scene and the plane remains on the runway at this time.

Passengers due to fly today (Saturday, 16th August) are being checked in as normal but are being told they would be leaving from different airports.

A spokesman for the airport urged passengers to check with their airline as to what to do.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused as we hope to have the runway open again as soon as possible,” the spokesman added.
