Son charged with dad’s murder in Elkesley

THE son of an Elkesley man who died early on Sunday morning has been charged with his murder.

Gary Talbot, 39, was arrested after his father, Charles Talbot, 64, sustained serious head injuries just after 5am at their home in Headland Avenue in the village. He died later at Bassetlaw Hospital.

Gary Talbot was arrested later the same day, Sunday 2nd December.

He will appear before Mansfield magistrates tomorrow (Tuesday 4th December).

A cordon is in place at a house in Headland Avenue while scenes of crime officers carry out a forensic examination.
