SLIDESHOW: Kids dress up as their favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day

On Thursday 5th March children of all ages helped celebrate World Book Day by dressing up as characters from their favourite stories.

School children from Willoughton Primary School all dressed as characters from Alice in Wonderland and enjoyed their very own Madhatters Tea Party, and Thomas Oliver, 10, Frank Elwess, seven, and Jessica Bagnall, seven, won prizes for their costumes.

Staff and pupils from Walkeringham Primary School all got into the spirit and dressed up as Where’s Wally.

Siblings Owen Brown and Ellie-mae Brown dressed up as Harry Potter and Matilda.

Kane McDonald, seven, chose to dress as Willy Wonka and Maisie Swinton, four, opted to dress as The Gogglynipper.

Sticking with the Roald Dahl theme, Tyler Scrimshaw, aged, 10, from Charles Baines School, was an Oompa Loompa.

Chynna-Ann Johnstone, nine, from Lea Frances Olive Anderson Primary School, went dressed as Gangsta Granny.
