Shop thief gets prison sentence

A MAN has landed himself in prison after committing a series of shop thefts.

Carl Fisher, 22, admitted seven thefts from various shops and petrol stations in Worksop and Retford between 27th August and 5th September.

The items he stole included household items such as fabric conditioner, tins of tuna, cider and jars of coffee.

Defence solicitor David Grant said Fisher didn’t have a drug problem but was struggling financially. He is left with just £40 a fortnight after paying his loans and bills, he added.

Magistrates in Worksop sent Fisher, of Whitaker Close, Retford, to prison for 120 days.
