Left-back Fox (ankle) and centre-back Lees (knee) sat-out Tuesday’s surprise Hillsborough defeat to Brentford.

Fox has yet to take part in training this week and it remains unclear when Lees will next be fit for first-team duty. The former Leeds trainee has not featured since the Owls’ entertaining draw at Bristol City at the end of last month.

Despite a second half onslaught, Wednesday crashed to their first home defeat since November in midweek.

Boss Carlos Carvalhal acknowledged the team played a “little slow and predictable” in the opening 45 minutes but was encourgaged by their much-improved performance after the restart.

He is backing his players to bounce back when they go to fifth-placed Leeds United on Saturday.

“We will react,” he said. “It will be a tough game but we will be ready for it. We will go there to try and do our best and fight for the three points.”
