Hide AdLeft-back Bennett, who will remain at Hillsborough until June 30, has told The Star: “It’s tight at the top of the Championship but, if you go on good run, you can shoot up the league.
“Wednesday are on a good run at the minute and hopefully I can help them continue that.
“I have joined because I want to help the club get promoted and I think it is possible.”

Several clubs outside the top-flight were believed to be interested in Bennett’s services but the Rochdale-born player says Owls midfielder Barry Bannan played an instrumental role in him joining the club.

Hide Ad“I played with Barry at Villa and I spoke to him a couple of days ago and he said he loved it here which is actually the reason why I have come,” he said.
“I asked him whether he liked it here, what’s the training like and what’s the manager like.
“Barry said only good things about all the questions that I asked. He said he is really enjoying it and I know Barry is playing really well at the moment so hopefully I can come in and do the same.”
