Sheffield Wednesday: Hitch in Owls' bid to sign Pudil
As revealed by The Star a fortnight ago, the Owls have been in dialogue with Pudil’s parent club Watford over capturing the left-back on a full-time basis.
But the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement on a fee for the Czech Republic international, with Wednesday understood to be pushing for a cut-price deal.

Pudil, who has played 25 times for the Owls since arriving on a season-long loan from the Premier League club, has 18 months remaining on his Hornets contract.
Speaking in his press briefing a week ago, head coach Carlos Carvalhal dropped a big hint that the Owls are struggling to finalise the move.
“There are some players who are more difficult (to tie down),” he admitted. “It depends on the club that the person belongs to.
“Some situations have been concluded. There are few that are open which I can’t talk too much about.”

“Daniel is our player until the end of the season so it doesn’t make too much sense to talk about this situation,” he added. “We are absolutely happy with him.”
The 30-year-old is keen to remain with Carvalhal’s side.
“My family and I have found friends and everyone in Sheffield is really friendly,” said Pudil, who has scored twice this season. “The city is great and that’s why I want to stay for the next couple of years. We don’t want to move anywhere else.”
In recent weeks, Jack Hunt, Barry Bannan, Atdhe Nuhiu, Glenn Loovens, Sam Hutchinson and Gary Hooper have committed their long-term futures to Wednesday.
