Centre-back Lewis Dunk is set to complete a two-match suspension following his dismissal in their home draw with Derby County last week.

Gordon Greer is expected to partner Connor Goldson at the heart of the Seagulls rearguard when they lock horns with the Owls.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton may also have to make an enforced change to his midfield should they fail to get Dale Stephens’ red card versus Middlesbrough overturned. Stephen was given his marching orders for a challenge on Gaston Ramirez, who was stretchered off with a gaping leg wound. If Stephens is unsuccessful with his appeal, he will be unavailable for selection for their Play-Off bid.

After narrowly missing out on automatic promotion, Hughton is confident his side will respond in a positive fashion.

The former Newcastle United and Norwich City chief described their draw at Boro on the final-day “as an incredible low”.

“You are always striving for those highs and the only way you can do that is to realise you are a good team, dust yourselves down and go again,” said Hughton. “We don’t have time to be too down.

“We’re still in with a good shout (of promotion) and we’ll be ready to go again.”
