Higdon, who has also failed to secure a place in manager Nigel Adkins’ starting eleven, will now begin the search for a new team with a return to Scotland being touted as a possibility by some north of the border. Higdon, previously of St Mirren and Motherwell, recently completed a spell on loan with Oldham Athletic.
