School meets minibus target

A THURCROFT school has raised £12,000 to buy a vital new minibus.

The Willows School started raising money in December and have held a variety of fundraising activities including a Christmas fayre, car boot sale and bingo nights.

Their latest donation for £4,000 came from the Free Masons - which takes them over their fundraising goal.

“The Variety Club will match the money pound for pound and sponsor a brand new bus,” said Maths teacher Rachael Booth.

“We needed £12,000 to be eligible for a 17 seater bus which we desperately need.”

The school are now waiting to hear back from the Variety Club about its match funding.
