Residents from Saxilby presented a petition to the council expressing their concerns and views following a recent planning application that was refused by the council’s Planning Committee.

A council meeting has been specially convened to enable a discussion on how to ensure the Local Plan is produced in a timely manner and reflects where growth is needed in West Lindsey.

The meeting will follow a consultation event.

West Lindsey District Council Leader, Coun Jeff Summers, said: “All group leaders have collectively agreed that upon receipt of a petition from the parish of Saxilby it was obvious there is a need for a greater understanding of the Central Lincolnshire planning process in relationship to the Local Plan.”

“This will form part of our consultation process which will run until 11th November.”

“I urge everyone with an interest in the future development of their community to participate in the consultation process.”

A consultation event will start at 4pm on 22nd October at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground.

Then at 6.30pm the Extraordinary Council meeting to discuss the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan wil begin.
