Water efficiency manager Doug Clarke said: “We all know we should look after our teeth by brushing twice a day. But how many of us think about saving water while you brush? Simply turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, washing your hands or shaving can save over 5 litres of water every minute.

“And if you already do this, how about knocking a minute off the time you spend in the shower. Not only will this save water, but it’ll also save electricity or gas as there will be less to heat up. So being careful with the amount of water you use could save you money too!

“Our little helpers, Landon and Riley, aged 4 and 6, have made a video to explain how you can save water while brushing at toptipvideos, so go take a look.”

Severn Trent have tons of good advice on how to save water, from tips for in the home, such as only using the dishwasher when you have a full load, to sensible gardening advice and even free water efficiency devices for your home. All this and more can be found at savewater.
