Rotherham: Pupils prove the art of public speaking is something they thrive on

The Art of Public speaking is still very much alive at Rudston Preparatory School in Rotherham.

The inter-house competition was a fiercely fought contest this year with 13 children taking part.

The audience were entertained by speeches about Henry V, inventions, essential items to take on a desert island, the dangers of smoking, Martin Luther King, architecture and raising money for good causes.

Mr Guy Willatt, head teacher, said; “In an event that is as much about controlling nerves and presentation as it is about content of the speech, it was tremendous to see so much confidence oozing from the young speakers.”
