BaSSetlaw Council chairman Coun Dave Challinor has been visiting schools this week to drive home the message about a hard-hitting road safety campaign.
Coun Challinor visited Serlby Park, Langold Dyscarr and St Augustine’s for the 2 young 2 die campaign for National Road Safety Week.
The district chairman said losing his father in a road traffic accident 48 years ago has made him extra passionate about the campaign.
“If I can put over my experience to them and explain why they should have lights on their bikes and wear seatbelts, it’s worth it,” he said.
“The response from the pupils has been really excellent and they are a real credit to the school.”
